I attend the occasional holiday gathering and visit the pub like any other functioning adult figure.

None of the sort. And even if they were a series of dates, there isn't enough cabernet in this galaxy to keep up with relations of that nature.

Besides I've grown quite fond of tending to my garden back home. It may feel tedious for some, but they haven't felt the satisfaction of harvesting their own tomatoes.
